CL&P and The United Way
CL&P employees have a strong tradition of volunteering their time to help support the United Way's Day of Caring. This year, nearly 700 employees are volunteering at over 25 agencies and organizations across the state, contributing time, sweat and muscle to lend a helping hand. Employees dedicate a full day to a variety of activities - painting, landscaping, cleaning trails, reading to children and more. The company is continually recognized for its safety standards during Day of Caring as well as providing a record number of employee volunteers.
Employees also annually demonstrate their generosity and concern for those in need through the Northeast Utilities Employee Giving Campaign. By answering the call to donate, employees help to ensure the continuation of programs across Connecticut that deliver meals to shut-ins and support groups to those in need. There's help for families with loved ones in military service at home or abroad and after school programs that give our children focus and purpose.
CL&P employees consistently answer the call to volunteer and donate because it's the right thing to do.
