Celebrating 20 Years of Support for the Special Olympics of Connecticut Winter Games
The Competition Itself is a Winner!

Since 1990, volunteers from CL&P have come together to help make the Special Olympics of Connecticut Winter Games the successful and rewarding experience that it is. Sponsored in part by CL&P, with cross-country skiing and snowshoeing events hosted at CL&P's Simsbury Area Work Center, the 2010 Games were no exception.
More than 200 athletes turned out on February 27-28 to experience the thrill of competition and demonstrate the amazing results of their hard work, training and dedication. These athletes invariably provide spectators with a great perspective on the strength of the human spirit and the ability to overcome even the most difficult challenges.
"CL&P and NU employees have a long tradition of supporting the Special Olympics of Connecticut Winter Games," said CL&P President and Chief Operating Officer Jeff Butler. "We even have retired employees who come back each year to show their support and lend a hand, and their continuing commitment reflects our own. This is a partnership that has grown stronger with each passing year, and something we are very proud to be a part of."
